Pike Peak Trek also known as “Lower Solu Trekking”, explore the less travelled part of the Solukhumbu-Everest region of Nepal. After Chaulakharka, we leave the Everest trail, we cross the Likhu khola and follow the trail to Pike peak. The circuit is accessible to all the trekkers without doing a high pass. At a breathtaking elevation of 4,065 meters, the pinnacle of Pikey Peak unveils an awe-inspiring panoramic vista that encompasses the entire Himalayan expanse.

Day to Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu Airport (1350m)
Welcome at Airport and transfer to Hotel. Receive a comprehensive trek briefing. The remainder of the day is yours to discover Kathmandu (according to your arrival time) and make ultimate arrangements for the journey.
Accommodation: Hotel at Kathmandu on BB plan.
Day 2: Kathmandu – Jiri (1790m)
Drive from Kathmandu to Jiri which is 187km, well-known for its beautiful landscape. Jiri, often referred to as the “Entranceway to Mount Everest,” holds its distinct place in the annals of this iconic mountain’s narrative. The earlier expedition groups starts from Jiri during their expeditions. The habitant of Jiri are Jirel one of the ethnic group of Nepal. Within the Jirel dialect, “Zi” resonates with luminosity, “Ri” embodies the essence of elevated terrain, and “Ba” signifies community. Indigenous to Nepal’s Dolakha district, the Jirel populace finds sanctuary in the Jiri Valley. Unique cultural facets distinguish Jirel heritage from the tapestry of Nepal’s diverse ethnicities. They practice a form of Buddhism which varies significantly from the Buddhist practices of their Sherpa neighbors.

Day 3: Jiri- Shivalaya- Deurali (2710m)
After Jiri, we ascend to a pass and arrive at mali, we descend down to Shivalaya village. We have a steep ascend to Deurali, hiking through the pine forest and arrive at Deurali.

Day 4: Deurali – Bhandara (2200m) – Namkheli (2310m)
Our day begin with descend, we descend down to beautiful Bhandare village, as we descend down, we cross the liku khola and arrive at Chaulakharka. After we climb up to Namkheli village.

Day 5: Namkheli – Nagour (3350m) – Pike Peak Basecamp (3640m)
After breakfast we have a steep climb up to Gumba dada. We follow the monastery trail we arrive at Nagour, we hike through the coniferous forest and pasture land to arrive to our destination Pike peak Basecamp (3640m).

Day 6: Pike peak –Jase Bhanjyang- Lamjura (3770m)
Early morning we head to Pike Peak, the sun rise from the peak is superb. We can see the Everest, lotse, Makalu, Numbur, Gaurishankar and many more Mountains.
We descend to base camp, prepare for the day. We descend down to Jase Bhanjyang. Walking through the temperate forest of Rhododendron, fir etc. after a small ascend and hiking through the forest we will arrive at Lamjura.

Day 7: Lamjura – Selo Gumba -Junbesi (2700m)
We continue our descent to Junbesi. En route, our path meanders through the quaint hamlets of Taktur and Saling, offering immersive glimpses into the lives of the local denizens. Pausing to explore, we grace the enchanting Selo Monastery before descending toward Junbesi. Nestled in the foothills, Junbesi, affectionately known as ‘Zhung-Gompa’ among the Sherpa community, reveals itself as a resplendent village perched at 2700m in the Lower Solukhumbu expanse. Nature’s canvas paints an astonishing backdrop, while the village exudes the opulence of its distinctive customs and traditions. A pivotal crossroads, Junbesi holds paramount significance for trekkers en route to the Everest Base Camp, its allure undeniable.

Day 8: Junbesi- Tubten choling Monastery (2950) – Junbesi
A day to explore the beautiful region of Junbesi. Our journey leads us to Thupten Choling, an awe-inspiring monastic complex that holds paramount significance within the Sherpa realm of Solukhumbu. We venture forth to explore this grandeur, a cherished gem that resonates deeply with the Sherpa community. Thupten Chöling is the retreat community and monastery established by Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche in the 1960s in the Solu Khumbu district of northeastern Nepal. TAt Thubten Choling, an eminent monastic school, over a hundred Tibetan monks and nuns engage in dedicated communal living and rigorous scholarly pursuits. Engaging in a prayer ceremony, conversing with the resident monks and nuns, presents a distinctive chance to delve into their way of life and gain profound insights. The monastery has beautiful views of the Junbesi Valley.
Walking hour: 3 hours and visit the Tibetan Monastery

Day 9: Junbesi – Ringmo-Taksindo (3000m)
We walk on a superb trail along a balcony with panoramic views of Everest and Thamserku. We then cross the Junbesi Khola and gradually climb up to Phurten (3000 m), a special viewpoint for watching Mount Everest. After enjoying the view, we gradually descend to Ringmu, perched on the other side of the Dudh Kund valley. We cross the Dudh Khola (river) which has its source in the Numbur Himal glacier. After the Sherpa village of Ringmu, we walk up to the Tarshindu Danda Pass.

Day 10: Taksindo – Chiwang Monastery (2600m)
We have a great sunrise from Taksindo dada. We walk to the monastery of Chiwang which is perched on the mountainside. Within the sacred confines of Chiwong Monastery, a symphony of prayers and scholastic endeavors resonated among the monks and nuns who inhabited its hallowed halls. Steeped in history, this venerable institution boasts a lineage adorned with revered spiritual leaders and erudite monks. With its inception dating back to 1923, Chiwong Monastery stands as one of the trio of monastic sanctuaries entrusted with the custodianship of the paramount Sherpa religious extravaganza—the Mani Rimdu festival. This profound religious jubilation orchestrates an ensemble of ceremonial rites and contemplative interludes.The Mani Rimdu festival, woven into the spiritual fabric of the Chiwong Monastery, unfolds its vibrant tapestry on the auspicious 28th of October. Day 11: Participating in the festival
On the 29th of October, a captivating spectacle known as the Chham, or the mesmerizing mask dance, takes center stage, masterfully performed by the dedicated monks. This enthralling display is a highlight of the second day’s proceedings during the festival. Across the festival’s duration, a total of 16 diverse dances gracefully unfold, each holding its own symbolic significance and purpose. These performances encompass a rich tapestry of meaning, representing the dynamic interplay between opposing forces that are either vanquished, transformed, or converted into guardians of the sacred Dharma. Additionally, the dances act as conduits for the multifaceted teachings of Buddhism, resonating with audiences on various profound levels.

Day 12: the last day of festival – Descend to Phaplu. (2450m)
30th.oct, Jinshak (Fire Puja) & destruction of the Sand Mandala at the same date. The culmination of the festivities arrives with the Jinsak, a poignant Fire Puja dedicated to Agni, the god of fire. This ritual, conducted by the monks, transpires on the day following the intricate dances. The ensuing Mandala, symbolizing unity and protection, serves to counteract global turmoil. Subsequently, the Mandala undergoes disassembly, and its sands are tenderly consigned to the spring below the monastery, signifying the conclusion of the celebratory saga.

Day 13: Phaplu – Kathmandu

We have early morning flight from Phaplu Airstrip. During our flight we can admire the Himalaya Sangrila from the plane. After a super mountain flight we have a day of sight seen of Kathmandu valley.
Flight: 30 minutes (The best and Cheap idea is to take a Jeep from Phaplu to Kathmandu because cheaper but reliable)

Day 14: Departure according to the flight schedule.
