Mera Peak Climbing-

Mera Peak is the highest trekking peak in Nepal, standing at an elevation of 6,476 meters. The mountain is located in the Khumbu region of Nepal, which is home to many of the world’s tallest peaks, including Mt. Everest.

The history of Mera Peak climbing in Nepal dates back to the early 1950s, when a team of British mountaineers first attempted to climb the peak. The team was led by Jim Roberts, who was a renowned mountaineer and the first person to climb the Kangchenjunga, the third-highest mountain in the world.

The team attempted to climb Mera Peak via the west ridge but was unsuccessful due to bad weather and difficult terrain. However, their attempt sparked an interest in climbing Mera Peak, and soon after, more and more climbers began to attempt to climb the mountain.

In 1953, another British team attempted to climb Mera Peak, this time via the south face. The team was successful, and this marked the first successful ascent of Mera Peak.

However, climbers must still be physically fit and prepared for the altitude and weather conditions. Over the years, Mera Peak climbing has become a well-established industry in Nepal, with many trekking agencies offering guided climbs of the mountain. The climb typically takes around 15 days, including acclimatization days and trekking to and from the mountain.
