Overview

Poonhill Family Trekking-

Poon Hill Family Trekking is a relatively easy trekking route located in the Annapurna region of Nepal. The trek is suitable for families with children and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan range, including Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre.

This Poonhill Trekking starts from Banthati and passes through several traditional villages, including Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, and Ghandruk. Poonhill Trek is relatively easy for the Children Trekking in Annapurna Trekking, with gradual climbs and descents, making it ideal for families with children. The trek takes about 5-7 days to complete, depending on your pace and itinerary.

The highlight of the trek is the breathtaking sunrise view from Poon Hill, which is located at an altitude of 3,210 meters. The panoramic view of the Himalayan range from Poon Hill is truly spectacular and is considered one of the best sunrise views in the world.

Along the way, you will be able to witness the unique flora and fauna of the region, including rhododendron forests, orchids, and rare bird species such as Himalayan Monal. You will also have the opportunity to interact with the local people and learn about their culture, traditions, and way of life.

Accommodation options along the trail are basic, with tea houses providing basic amenities such as hot showers, comfortable beds, and traditional Nepali meals. The trek is relatively inexpensive, making it an ideal choice for families on a budget.

Poon Hill Family Trekking is from March to May and from September to November, is the best time. The weather during these months is pleasant, and the views are spectacular. The trek is suitable for families with children above the age of 6 years and does not require any prior trekking experience.

Itinerary

We will be ready to welcome you at the Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu. Then, we take you to hotel by private car or Jeep as per program.
Welcome dinner in one of Nepali Kitchen.

During the sightseeing day, we provide a private vehicle (Car/Jeep/Van). And, a trained and experienced  cultural guide takes you to visit the announced heritage site.

According to schedule of time, breakfast at your hotel and drive to Tribhuvan Domestic airport to take a flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu, It will take approximately 22 minutes. And, take a Jeep from the airport to Banthati, O/N in Lodge at Banthati.

Breakfast in lodge. Lunch break on the way somewhere. First view of Mt. Annapurna South (7219m) and Mt. Hiuchuli (6444m) from Ulleri Village and while crossing through the Rhododendron forest, will see many others floras.

Early morning before breakfast, Hike to Poonhill (3210m) for stunning sunrise view with giant mountain chains- Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massive. Back to lodge then, breakfast and trek to Tadapani (2600m), 6 hrs.

Stunning mountain view in the morning if weather is cleared from the lodge. Views of Huichuli and Annapurna South including Machhapuchre (6993m)- a holy mountain in the Annapurna region Trekking.

Breakfast at hotel and walk slowly down to Kimche to catch up a Jeep to get back to Pokhara, Lake Side. Transfer to hotel on the basis of Bed and Breakfast plan with twin sharing room.

Free time at the bank of Fewa Lake.

 

We will take you to visit The peace pagoda, Tibetan Refugee camp, Davi’sfall and Gupteswora cave which is the longest natural cave in South-Asian country and assumed that Lord Shiva- The Hindu god, had meditated in this cave.

Finally, we take you to visit International Mountaineering Museum and free time at again, lake side Pokhara.

According to your program, we take to you to Pokhara airport if you have planed taking means of transport by air to Kathmandu and if you have made a plan by land transportation, so we do as announced program to get back to Kathmandu.

Transfer to hotel on the basis of BB with Twin-sharing room.

The day- final departure from Kathmandu for your next destination.

  • Try to be mentally and physically prepared before this trek with few short hikes before this trek is highly recommended.
