The trek offers stunning panoramic views of the Himalayan range, including Mount Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and Annapurna.
The trek starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Phaplu or a drive to Salleri, which is the starting point of the trek. The trail passes through beautiful landscapes, including terraced fields, rhododendron forests, and traditional villages inhabited by the Sherpa community.
The trek is relatively easy and suitable for beginners, with gradual climbs and descents. The highlight of the trek is undoubtedly the breathtaking views of the Himalayan range from Pike Peak. The trail takes you through remote Sherpa villages, where you can experience their unique culture, traditions, and way of life.
Along the way, you can visit several monasteries and gompas, including the Thupten Choling Monastery, which is the largest monastery in the region. The monastery is known for its colorful prayer flags, intricate murals, and ancient relics.
The best time to do the Pike Peak Trek is from March to May and from September to November. The weather during these months is pleasant, and the views are spectacular. During the trek, you will be able to witness the unique flora and fauna of the region, including rare species such as red panda, snow leopard, and Himalayan black bear.
Pike Trekking takes about 8-10 days to complete, depending on your pace and itinerary. Accommodation options along the trail are basic, with tea houses and homestays providing basic amenities such as hot showers, comfortable beds, and traditional Nepali meals.
