Classic Larke Pass Trekking is one of the most exhilarating treks in Nepal which circles the Manaslu range. Opened to foreigners in 1992, this trek offers outstanding views of the 8th highest peak in the world, Mt Manaslu (8163 m). The trek takes you across the dramatic pass of Larkya La (5160m), which is frozen almost all year. During this trek, you walk through authentic ethnic villages and explore the geographical and cultural variations of the Tibetan style villages situated on the foothills of the gorgeous Manaslu range.
Classic Larke Pass Trekking starts with your arrival in Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, you take a scenic drive to Soti Khola and then start trekking. You go north up the valley of Budhi Gandaki River accompanied by the views of Manaslu Himal Range to cross the ice and snow covered Larkya La (5160 m), which is the highest point during this Larke Pass Trekking. The trail goes through the fertile farmlands, beautiful rhododendron forests, scattered villages, ancient monasteries, deep gorges, and rocky ridges. Along with the cultural heritage, you also get to witness a combination of picturesque Landscapes in Manaslu Trekking Region and biodiversity. Day 03: Drive to Machhakhola by Private Jeep or Public Bus.
Altitude: Approximately 900 meters (2,953 feet)
Driving Time: Around 8-9 hours
Travel by private jeep or public bus to Machhakhola.
Day 04: Trek from Machhakhola to Jagat.
Altitude: Approximately 1,410 meters (4,626 feet)
Walking Hours: 6-7 hours
Trek along the trail, crossing the Machhakhola River, and get glimpses of Sringi Himal (7,187 meters).
Day 05: Trek from Jagat to Deng.
Altitude: Approximately 1,804 meters (5,919 feet)
Walking Hours: 6-7 hours
Continue your trek, passing through villages like Salleri and crossing the Budhi Gandaki River.
Day 06: Trek from Deng to Namrung.
Altitude: Approximately 2,630 meters (8,629 feet)

Trek through lush forests and enjoy views of Ganesh Himal I (7,422 meters / 24,350 feet) and Ganesh Himal II (7,118 meters / 23,350 feet).
Day 07: Trek from Namrung to Samagaon.

Day 08: Acclimatization Day in Samagaon.
Altitude: Approximately 3,530 meters
Spend the day acclimatizing in Samagaon with views of Manaslu.
Day 09: Trek from Samagaon to Samdo.
Altitude: Approximately 3,860 meters (12,664 feet)
Walking Hours: 3-4 hours
Trek to the village of Samdo, continuing to see the majestic Manaslu.
Day 10: Trek from Samdo to Dharamsala (Larkya Phedi).
Altitude: Approximately 4,460 meters
Walking Hours: 3-4 hours
Ascend to Dharamsala, admiring Manaslu and neighboring peaks.
Day 11: Cross Larkya Pass and Trek to Bimthang.
Altitude: Cross Larkya Pass at 5,160 meters (16,929 feet), descend to Bimthang at 3,720 meters
Walking Hours: 8-9 hours
Cross the Larkya Pass with views of Himlung Himal (7,126 meters ), Cheo Himal (6,820 meters ), Annapurna II (7,937 meters / 26,040 feet), and Kang Guru (6,981 meters).
Day 12: Trek from Bimthang to Tilije.
Altitude: Approximately 2,300 meters (7,546 feet)
Walking Hours: 5-6 hours
Descend through rhododendron forests, possibly catching glimpses of Lamjung Himal (6,983 meters).
Day 13: Trek from Tilije to Chamje.
Altitude: Approximately 1,410 meters
Walking Hours: 5-6 hours
Trek through villages and forests, crossing suspension bridges and reaching Chamje.
Day 14: Trek from Chamje to Besisahar and Drive to Kathmandu.
Altitude: Besisahar at approximately 760 meters

Drive back to Kathmandu from Besisahar, reflecting on the journey.
Day 15: Departure from Kathmandu.
Altitude: Approximately 1,350 meters
Depart from Kathmandu for your onward journey.

Manaslu Region Special Trekking Permit Cost Variations According to Seasons:

Only Glacier Family Treks & Expedition P. LTD. or legally registered Local Trekking Companies are authorized to issue the Manaslu or Classic Larke Pass Trekking Permits.
A licensed and trained trekking guide is mandatory for this trekking.
Obtaining the Manaslu Special Trekking Permit or Classic Larke Pass Trekking Permit through an agency is not sufficient; the number of trekkers should be more than one person. Single trekkers cannot obtain the permit.
