Overview

Langtang Adventure Trekking

The wardrobe of monstrous snow capped mountains and glaciers piled upon the alpine forests of rhododendron and decorated by the jewel in the Himalayas, Langtang Adventure Trekking is one of the best destination of trekkers throughout the world. Trekking through the heart of Tamang Heritage Culture, Langtang Adventure Trekking is one of those treks that not only add diversity to the experience but is also easily accessible to trekkers of all ages. Enough adventure to keep the thrill seekers occupied and an undemanding trek are what makes Langtang one of the most traveled destinations of Nepal.

The journey to Langtang starts with the travel to Syabrubesi crossing Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche, a comfortable 7-hour ride through the middle hill forests and terraced farming lands. Following the Langtang River eastwards, you head towards Kyanjin Gompa, a Buddhist monastery showcasing ancient Tibetan culture reflected in its paintings and designs. As the trail rises towards Tserko Ri Hiking (4984m), forests and terraced fields give way to the rock hard ground. The summit gives a mesmerizing view of the majestic Himalayas- Langtang Lirung (7227m) to the west, Dorje Lakpa (6966m) and Shishapangma (8013m) to the east and Yala peak (5520m) to the north. Chasing the trail through the outlandish rhododendron and coniferous forests, you find yourself deep inside the Langtang National Park, which is the home to endangered wildlife such as red panda, snow leopard, and the Himalayan black bear. Finding the way out of Langtang Highland Passes, and moraines, you end up in Gosainkunda, the Pristine Jewel of  Himalayas. A strong belief amongst the local people attributes its creation to Lord Shiva who thrust his trident into the mountain to soothe his throat after saving the universe from Kalakuta poison during Samundra Manthan. After enjoying the tranquility, mesmerizing landscape, and stunning views offered by Gosainkunda Holy Lake, you head downwards ending the trek in the ever-hustling city of Kathmandu via the quaint valley of Helambu.
