Ghorepani Poonhill Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Your Nepal family trekking adventure begins as you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. We’ll warmly welcome you and guide you to your hotel located in the heart of Thamel, where you can settle in and get ready for the journey ahead. Rest well overnight.


Day 2: Journey to Pokhara
Early morning, we set off for Pokhara, a beautiful city known for its serene lakeside. The journey can be a 22-minute scenic flight or a 6-7 hour drive through charming hills, rivers, and villages. Once in Pokhara, you’ll check in to your hotel, explore a bit, and prepare for the upcoming trek. Rest and relax overnight.


Day 3: Trekking from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga.
Leaving Pokhara behind, we drive to Nayapul, which takes about 1.5 hours. From there, we begin our trek towards Tikhedhunga, a small village located at 1460 meters. Along the way, you’ll pass through charming villages with mud houses and lovely farms, enjoying the views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. Spend the night in Tikhedhunga.

Day 4: Hike to Ghorepani
Today’s trek leads you from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani. The 5-hour journey takes you through rhododendron and oak forests, accompanied by the warm presence of local Gurung people. Ghorepani treats you to stunning views of snow-capped mountains and lush green landscapes. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in Ghorepani.


Day 5: Sunrise at Poon Hill, Trek to Tadapani
An early morning hike takes you to Poon Hill, where the sunrise paints the sky over Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Nilgiri peaks. Capture this incredible moment and then trek to Tadapani, descending through verdant forests. The day’s trek lasts about 5 hours, and you’ll spend the night in Tadapani.


Day 6: Trekking to Landruk Village
Your trek today leads from Tadapani to Landruk Village via Ghandruk. These Gurung villages offer breathtaking views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. Enjoy interactions with the friendly locals, learn about their culture, and even visit the Gurung Museum. Spend a memorable night in Landruk Village.


Day 7: Trek to Australian Camp
Leaving Ghandruk behind, you’ll trek to Australian Camp through lush rhododendron and oak forests. The stunning Himalayas provide a majestic backdrop as you descend through the Gurung hamlets. Overnight at Australian Camp, with views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre.


Day 8: Trek to Phedi, Return to Pokhara to check in hotel.
Today’s trek takes you from Australian Camp to Phedi, passing through the Gurung village of Dhampus. From Phedi, we drive back to Pokhara, where you can enjoy the serene Phewa Lake and a vibrant evening at one of the local restaurants. Rest well in your Pokhara hotel.


Day 9: Exploring Pokhara City.
A day for sightseeing in Pokhara awaits! Visit the International Mountain Museum, World Peace Stupa, Davis Falls, Mahendra Cave, and the Tibetan Camp. You can also opt for a mountain bike ride around the city. Enjoy your last night in Pokhara.


Day 10: Return to Kathmandu
We travel today back to Kathmandu through the Prithvi Highway. After arriving in the capital, you can rest at your hotel or explore the nearby market. Overnight in Kathmandu hotel.


Day 11: Free Day and Farewell Dinner
This day is yours to spend as you wish in Kathmandu. You can explore more of the city. Don’t forget to shop for unique Nepali handicrafts in Thamel. In the evening, enjoy a delightful farewell dinner in an authentic Nepali kitchen. Rest well in your Kathmandu hotel.


Day 12: Final Departure for your next destination.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, we will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport and help you check in at the hotel in Thamel. Overnight at the hotel.
Early in the morning, we will start our journey to Pokhara, which is 6 hours long drive through the hills, rivers, and villages. Upon arrival in Pokhara, we will settle ourselves at the hotel and later explore a little and prepare for the trek next day. Overnight at the hotel.

Leaving Pokhara, we will drive to Nayapul, which takes almost 2 hours to reach. After reaching Nayapul, we will trek about 4 hours to reach Tikhedhunga, passing by small villages with houses made of mud surrounded by lovely farms. The peaks of Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), and Machhapuchhre (6997m) start to dominate the skyline as we reach Tikhedhunga. Overnight in Tikhedhunga.

Today we will trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani, which is 5 hours long ascend where we will get to walk through rhododendron and oak forests with happy Gurung locals all the way. Ghorepani will allow us to see beautiful views of the snow capped mountains and lush green nature at their best. We will stay overnight in Ghorepani.
This day will be special as we will hike to Poon Hill to catch the most beautiful sunrise and the amazing view of the peaks of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna (8091m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), and Nilgiri (7061m), and so on. You can capture these amazing mountains in your camera because you will probably get the best view of your life from Poon Hill. Afterward, we will trek to Tadapani, which is a 5 hours long fun descent through the verdant forests. Overnight in Tadapani.
Today we will trek from Tadapani to Landruk Village via Ghandruk, which are big Gurung villages in Annapurna Region, hosting amazing views of Annapurna South (7219m) and Machhapuchhre (6997m). Along with beautiful mountains, small villages, crossing a small bridge over the Mode Khola- River and lots of greenery, we make our way to the picturesque Gurung village. The people are very warm and friendly, so you can interact with them and learn about their culture and lifestyle. You can also visit the Gurung Museum there and try their traditional attire. Overnight at Landruk Village in local teahouse or Lodge.
Leaving the beautiful Ghandruk village behind, we will trek to Australian Camp today through the lush forest of rhododendron and oaks. With the backdrop of the Himalayas, the trail descends on flagstone steps and passes through small hamlets of the Gurung people. At Australian Camp, we can get an amazing view of Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), and Machhapuchhre (6997m). Overnight in Australian Camp.

 

Today we will trek through the forested trail to Phedi from Australian Camp via the Gurung village of Dhampus. From Phedi, we will drive back to Pokhara enjoying the countryside views. In Pokhara, you can stroll around Phewa Lake and later enjoy the vibrant evening at one of the happening restaurants. Overnight at the hotel in Pokhara.
Today is a fun filled day where we will visit some of the famous places in the lake city, including the International Mountain Museum, World Peace Stupa, Davis Falls, Mahendra Cave, and Tibetan Camp. If time suffices, we will also drive to Begnas Lake and visit the fish farm beside it. We can also hire a mountain bike and cycle around the beautiful Pokhara city while relishing the stunning view of Machhapuchhre (6997m). Overnight at the hotel in Pokhara.

Today we will drive back to Kathmandu, enjoying the views of lush hills and countryside settlements along the Prithvi Highway. Upon arrival, you will be dropped at your hotel so that you can rest and relax. Later, you can go for a stroll around the nearest market and try some local delicacies. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Today is your free day in Kathmandu, which you can spend as you please. You can either go for sightseeing around some of the popular places in the city or you can just rest in your hotel room. However, do not forget to shop for authentic Nepali handicrafts in Thamel to take back as souvenirs for family and friends back home. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
After such long days of trekking and exploring, it is the day to say goodbye. We will drop you at the airport to connect you with your scheduled flight.
