Pike Peak Trekking Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Transfer to your hotel and rest. Explore the vibrant streets of Thamel and prepare for the trek. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.


Day 2: Kathmandu to Dhap (2,840m)

Drive from Kathmandu to Dhap, a small village in the Ramechhap district. Enjoy the scenic drive through rural Nepal. Overnight stay in Dhap.


Day 3: Dhap to Jhapre (2,850m)

Pass through beautiful rhododendron forests and small settlements. Beautiful views of Numbur Himal and other surrounding peaks. Hike through dense forests and experience the tranquility of the Himalayas. Enjoy panoramic views of Everest, Kanchenjunga, and other peaks.

Overnight stay in Japre.


Day 4: Japre to Upper Bulble (3200m)

Trek from Japre to Upper Bulbule, breat at Bulbule. Ascend through alpine meadows and yak pastures. Reach the base camp and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.


Day 5: Upper Bulbule to Pike Base Camp (3700m)

Beautiful view of Mt Kanchenjunga from Lodge, Pass through the Rhododendron forest, Yas pastures, Maniwalls and many more. There are few numbers of lodges are in Pike Base Camp. Overnight in Pike Base Camp.


Day 6: Pike Base Camp to Pike Peak (4,067m) and Junbesi (2,700m)

Start early in the morning to hike up to Pike Peak, the highest point of the trek. Witness the stunning sunrise over the Himalayas from the summit.Descend to Junbesi, a Sherpa village famous for its monastery. Overnight stay in Junbesi.


Day 7: Junbesi to Phaplu (2,413m)

Early morning, hike to Thupten Chholing Monastery, back to Junbesi at lodge to have breakfast. And, walk to Phaplu. Pass through picturesque landscapes and charming villages. Visit the local market and explore the town. Overnight stay in Phaplu.


Day 8: Phaplu to Kathmandu

Fly Drive from Phaplu to Kathmandu, 35 minutes by fight and 8-9 hours by bus/jeep, Transfer to hotel in Kathmandu and rest. Spend the day exploring the city or shopping for souvenirs. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.


Day 9: Departure from Kathmandu.

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

The name “Pike Peak” and “Pikey Peak” may have slight variations due to transliteration or regional dialects. What is TIMS Cards?

Trekker’s Information Management System (TIMS) card is a permit that’s required for trekkers in Nepal. However, please note that the information may have changed since then, and it’s essential to check with the latest regulations and guidelines.

The TIMS card is introduced to ensure the safety and security of trekkers by collecting relevant information and maintaining a record of their trekking activities. It helps in tracking trekkers and providing assistance in case of emergencies or natural disasters.

Previously, there were two types of TIMS cards: the Blue TIMS card for individual trekkers and the Green TIMS card for organized trekkers (travelling as part of an organized trekking group). Both cards required trekkers to provide their personal details, trekking route information, and emergency contact information. But, since 1st April 2023, Ministry of Travel and Tourism of Nepal, has declared that there is only one type of TIMS Card which is issued by Local Trekking Company and Nepal Tourism Board doesn’t issue it to individual trekkers. It means, each and all trekkers should go through one of local trekking agency, is mandatory.
However, it’s important to note that the rules and regulations regarding trekking permits and TIMS cards can change over time. It is recommended to check with the latest information from the Nepal Tourism Board or consult with a reliable trekking agency to ensure you have the most up-to-date and accurate details for obtaining the necessary permits for your Pike Peak Trekking.


Who can provide TIMS Cards?

TIMS Cards will be provided by your Trekking agency. A couple yeas ago, Individuals could issue it at NTB (Nepal Tourism Board) but, since 1st April 2023, all trekkers should join in local trekking agency as they only can issue and provide you TIMS Cards. Itinerary

Meet in Kathmandu Airprt. As you land in Kathmandu, our guest relation officer will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. You can rest for a while and then venture out to get familiar with the Kathmandu air. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Today, early morning, we will leave for Dhap (2850 m), 240 kilo meters from Kathmand. It is towards the east of the valley. This is a typical experience of a jeep drive in the hilly region of Nepal, the scenery is breathtaking and the winding and bumpy roads fill you with adrenaline.

Breafast in the lodge with Sutnning Sun Rise! We take our tail to the left and we quite way to Saller-Phaplu to the right. Beutiful view of Mt Numbur and Mt Karyalung.

Today we will trek to Bulbule, very short day of entie Pike Peak Trekking.

We have again short walking day for just a couple of hours. We walk through the Rhododendron Forests, Cross Himalayan Yak Grazing pastures and many Mani Walls.

 

We will carry packed lunch today and make our way to Pikey Peak (4068m) early in the morning through the forest of rhododendron, birch, pine, oak, and fir. We will also walk past some beautiful pastures, and after a downhill walk, we slowly climb uphill to reach the top of Pikey Peak (4068m), the highest point of our journey. From the top of the peak, we will be able to witness a majestic sunrise over the peaks of Everest (8848m), Cho Oyu (8188m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Thamserku (6608m), Kusum Khangkaru (6367m), and many more.

We explore Junbesi and surroundings, hike 1.5 hours to the 16th century Thupten Cholingn Monastery where about four hundred Sherpa and Tibetan monks and nuns reside for meditation. Some monks also live in meditation caves carved in the side of the hill near the monastery.

Back to Junbeshi and Trek to Phaplu, The last fiesta of the Pike Peak Trekking.

Phaplu, where we have the option to either fly or drive back to Kathmandu. Both the flight and the drive serve amazing views of the countryside landscape. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel for the overnight stay.

Back in Kathmandu, the day is dedicated for sightseeing some of the prominent places of the valley, which is known for its richness of art, culture, and tradition of the Hindu and the Buddhist faiths. You will witness this in the many UNESCO world heritage sites that you will visit today. The three Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur that you visit today are the prime examples of the ancient art and architecture of Kathmandu.

Today our staff will drop you off at the airport, ending your stay and adventure in Nepal. We hope you had a lovely time in our country.
