This short and easy Langtang Valley Trek starts with a picturesque drive to Sybrubensi from Kathmandu. Throughout the trek, the snaky Langtang River is followed religiously while enjoying the enthralling views of different peaks of the Langtang Valley Himalaya Range. With the Tamang Heritage Community calling this valley home, the omnipresence of Buddhism can be seen in the multiple Chortens, monasteries, prayer wheels, and prayer flags that adorn the trail. One such spiritual experience would be the visit to the ancient Kyanjin Gompa, which is revered as the most sacred by the local Tamangs. The monastery as well as the hilltop of Tserko Ri (4984m) work as amazing hosts of the alluring Langtang Valley Himalayan Panorama. The different peaks of Langtang Himal and Dorje Lakpa ranges along with Langshisha (6560m) and the Tibetan mountains appear absolutely stunning from the vantage point of Tserko Ri (4984m). As the trek goes through the famous Langtang National Park, a chance of spotting the rare red panda stays with you throughout the trek. Through lush forests, rocky landscapes, and narrow trails, anyone with a fit body can make this walk to the picture-perfect Langtang valley.

Kathmandu is the city of Gods and Goddesses along with beautiful culture and art. Today we will make our way to some significant Hindu and Buddhist religious sites in Kathmandu. Pashupatinath, a Shiva temple is one of the holiest sites for Hindu pilgrimage. We will also make our way to Boudhanath and Swayambhunath, which are Buddhist stupas inside the Kathmandu valley that attract many visitors from all over the world. Today we will see the craft, culture, and tradition that the two religions together have cooked up, and appreciate the harmony and tolerance shown.
To avoid traffic, we will move out of Kathmandu valley early today to reach Sybrubensi, the gateway to Langtang Valley. On the way to Syabru, we will enjoy scenic views of the winding hilly roads along with some swift flowing rivers and peeking mountains such Ganesh Himal (7422 m), Langtang Lirung (7227 m), and so on. The village of Syabru, surrounded by hills, welcomes us with amazing views of the peaks of Langtang Himal Range.
After breakfast, we make our way to Lama Hotel which will take us through terraced fields and dense forests of maple, oak, bamboo, and so on. We will also be able to witness the diversity and beauty of nature as we have the opportunity to see the habitation of the Langur monkey, wild boars, and the rare red panda while the Himalayas keep us company. This trail has small streams and waterfalls lining the path where we can see bee hives hanging by the cliffs above Langtang River.
We will continue to ascent as we move out of Lama Hotel. We will be walking next to Langtang River and will be blessed with majestic views of the surrounding landscape. With the views of Langtang Lirung (7227 m), we move further to enter beautiful meadows and pastures where yaks graze. While reaching towards Thangshyap, we will be able to see many small teahouses, which give off a very Tamang feel to it with wonderful people running them.
The trek from Thangshyap to Langtang village goes through verdant forests as well as pasturelands with the backdrop of Langtang Himal Range on one side and Naya Kanga (5844m) on the other side. En route, we will pass by the old Langtang Gompa. Langtang is a beautiful settlement of the Tamang community and has many houses which have flat roofs. The rocky terrain of the village sits in the forefront of the grey mountains. Enjoy a warm cup of tea while gazing at the massive look of Langtang Lirung (7227 m). Overnight in Langtang village.
Now leaving Langtang village, we follow Langtang River upstream towards one of the primary monasteries in the region, Kyanjing Gompa. On our visit to the monastery, we can see that there is also a cheese factory in this region which we can visit and try some yummy yak cheese. The monastery which is more than 600 years old has old wall paintings and is situated in a mesmerizing place with the background of the mountains, including Langtang Lirung (7227 m), Yala Peak (5732 m)
The hike to Tserko Ri (4984 m) is about 3 hours long and is accompanied by fantastic views of the snowy glacier and stunning mountains. Tserko Ri, when climbed, will give us a different sense of accomplishment, and we will be able to enjoy nature at its finest from here. The beautiful scenery makes for an ideal place to make multiple photos and take memories back with you. Later we hike back to Kyanjing Gompa for the overnight stay.
Retracing our steps, today we make our way to the village of Thangshyap, passing Langtang village through beautiful rocky landscapes. We will also bear witness to the many mountains that keep us company as we cross suspension bridges, monasteries, Chortens, and finally reach our destination, Thangshyap.
Descending through the lush forest of rhododendron and bamboo, we make our way past Ghodatabela and Lama Hotel to reach Bamboo. The trail goes alongside Langtang River, presenting distant views of Ganesh Himal Range, and we cross many suspension bridges to finally reach the small settlement of Bamboo.
Retracing our steps, we make our way to Sybrubensi. Continuing to follow the Langtang River, we make a few ascends and descends through verdant forests and past scattered settlements to reach the bridge over Bhote Koshi River, crossing which we enter Sybrubensi. Today also marks the last day of our trek, so we will spend time sharing our experiences from the trek.
Following the same route as we did before, we will make our way back to Kathmandu city. As we enter city life, it becomes evidently clear just how chaotic and stressful the city life is. Upon reaching, we will drive you to the hotel so that you can give yourself some well-deserved rest.
Today you can spend your time exploring the many gullies and hidden gems in Kathmandu. Almost every alley you enter, you will see small temples paying tribute to their local deities. The sweet scent of the incense and the yummy food stalls will pull you into some of the best corners of the city.
As you complete your journey, our representative will drop you at the airport for your final departure.
